The work of Vlastimil Beneš cannot always be simply classified into the main currents of 20th century art. His paintings, which are perfectly represented by the offered work, are filled with a kind of poetry, peace, silence and melancholy. The landscape with a pink field fulfils his concept of a distinctive original lyricism.
