This painting, depicting a mountainous landscape with palm trees, is part of the series of landscape paintings Kopf created during his long residence in Tahiti. It offers an excellent example of the artist's favorite exotic-themed art from his travels to Tahiti and Martinique, which he presented at his solo exhibitions at the Bohemia Art Society in Prague in 1927, 1935 and 1937. The rareness of his work – in addition to the unquestionable artistic skill and aesthetic qualities it displays – increases its low availability on the market. Due to the artist's fate, a large part of his work is missing and signed works are very rare.
