František Drtikol (1883 - 1961) NUDE

The posing girl in František Drtikol's drawing reveals his strong orientation towards the artistic act with elements of art nouveau and art deco, which was reflected in photography and later transformed into painting. The drawing comes from the period just before František Drtikol sold his photography studio and fully devoted himself to his love of painting. He himself characterized his work with the words: "I am inspired by three things when working: decorativeness, movement, calmness and the expression of individual lines." Assessed by Stanislav Doležal Art.
