Due to the lack of attributes, it is impossible to determine whether this was a study for the figure of a saint or an old man. The expressiveness of the painting, which was created using short brushstrokes, is exceptional. Moreover, a technical study of the painting (by Šárka and Petr Berger) shows that the paint was applied not only with a brush, but also with fingers. Oil on canvas.
