The golden summer fields, the solitary tree in the landscape, and the shadow cast by a cloud in Jan Slavíček's work are presented with a few spirited strokes and demonstrate his sensual conception of the landscape. Jan Slavíček intensely perceives the landscape in all its beauty and strives to capture it faithfully with a precisely graded terrain plan. The confrontational juxtaposition of the blue sky and flat horizon with a single lonely tree can also be perceived as a modern symbol of inner composure.
