Roman Franta's work is best known for its structural compositions consisting of beetles. They are often classified as Pop Art, but the meaning of the beetles in his works reflects human bustle, communication, relationships, and differences in behavior in society and as individuals. The painting is from 2004-05, when the artist was painting a series of gardens. At that time, he was experimenting with new techniques and technologies for the formal processing of images using objects found in nature, which he then assembled on canvas. Using sprays and acrylic paints, Roman Franta created a composition, a certain structure, an ornament, which he then painted and supplemented with beetles. Sometimes in the form of random clusters, sometimes in precisely arranged rows of beetles.
