A rare example of work probably from the 1990s by an artist who became famous as a glass designer. Ivana Šrámková studied at UMPRUM in Prague in the studio of Prof. Stanislav Libenský from 1981 to 1987. In addition to her famous smaller glass sculptures and vases, she also creates sculptures that, due to their size and weight, are quite far from the ethereal nature of glass. In her work, she does not shy away from any subject matter, from animals to fantastical visitors from outer space. She approaches their depiction in various ways, alternating between more elaborate forms and those indicated only in basic features. Her works, which are very popular with collectors, are also represented in important public collections such as the UPM in Prague, the NG in Prague, the North Bohemian Museum in Liberec, the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, Great Britain, Corning Museum of Glass, Corning, USA; Museum of Modern Art, Lausanne, Switzerland; Ulster Museum, Belfast, Ireland.
