PLAQUE WITH MICROMOSAICS

Wooden plaque decorated with gilding and carved ornaments with a total of 7 slots with one painted portrait and six detailed micromosaics. Three of them depict nostalgic scenes of ancient ruins and pyramids, and the remaining three depict doves. Both groups of scenes were among the most frequent themes in Italian micromosaics.
