The figure from the Iphigenie cycle, created by the prominent Czech sculptor Olbram Zoubek in March 1985 from patinated lead alloy with tin, depicts a young man striding with his right foot, with a drapery draped over his left shoulder and reaching down to his waist. In his artistic expression, Zoubek has arrived at a characteristic expression that is based on a very expressive, even haptic work with matter and verticality. After graduating from the Academy of Arts and Crafts in Josef Wagner's studio, Olbram Zoubek turned to restoring historical sculptures and sgraffiti, mainly because he was inconvenient for the regime as an artist and could not officially exhibit. However, he continued to devote himself to sculpture; in 1996 he was awarded the state Medal of Merit, 1st degree. His largest retrospective exhibition to date, comprising some 300 exhibits, took place in 2013 in the Prague Castle Riding Hall. The work is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from the Kmentová Zoubek Foundation by PhDr. Polana Bregantová.
