The unique honeycomb structure called "vitrucell" allows the interplay of form and light, successfully combining the contrasting quality of precision workmanship and fascination with the material. The vitrucell technique is completely unique in the world and its imitation would involve the use of approximately 50 technological processes. Zdeněk Lhotský is an artist with a broader outlook who, in addition to glass, also works with graphics, sculpture, photography and music. Since his youth he has been close to other artistic disciplines, as evidenced by the fact that he co-founded the Hardheads group in 1987. He became world famous for, among other things, the production of a sarcophagus for the Danish Royal Family, designed by artist Bjoern Norgaard.
