Joseph and Putifarka by Albin Brunovský tells the biblical story of an insistent woman who wanted to take Joseph to her bed, but he resisted. At one point she managed to tear his clothes off. Although he resisted, Putiphar's vengeful wife accused him of wanting to rape her, had Joseph's clothes as proof, and had him imprisoned. In his prints, Albín Brunovský maintained a beautiful and sophisticated form, which was combined with surrealistic means. We often find deep symbolic messages and model stories in his work.
