Two exceptional late Gothic reliefs depict two scenes from the Passion cycle, namely Ecce Homo and the nailing of Christ to the Cross. The trapezoid-shaped reliefs with original polychrome and gilding, which were most likely part of a larger altarpiece depicting the last days in the life of Jesus Christ, were made by a Hispano-Flemish sculptor, probably from the province of Burgos in the north of the Iberian Peninsula. The grotesque figurative stylisation (grimaces and hunchbacks), alongside the spare corporeality of Christ, shows features of a hybrid relationship between the Transalpine Renaissance and the Spanish Gothic.
