Andrej Bělocvětov (1923 - 1997) WIDOW

The work of Andrei Belotsvetov is characterised by a wide range of artistic influences. The theme of death recurs several times over the years. From the 1950s onwards he was seriously ill, suffering from epilepsy and undergoing drastic treatment in a psychiatric clinic. Since then he has shunned society. In the late 1950s he became a member of the May 57 group and exhibited with it until 1965. In the 1970s he was the honorary chairman of the Žižkov avant-garde.
