Hand-knotted woolen carpet on woolen warp, characterised by a traditional geometric design in an impressive medallion composition, dominated by three lightning diamond ornaments, surrounded by a number of so-called secondary motifs. Among them, gazelles (which may also be deer), diamond elements of fortune, various rosettes, as well as fanciful palmettes connected by austere tendrils are particularly striking. Very decorative are the outer and inner bands of blue, on which carnation flowers are abundantly depicted, and these bands are surrounded by four red and white thin stripes, the filling of which is referred to as “barber-pole design” in worldwide professional usage, as it is reminiscent of the attributes of barbers' guilds. A classic carpet both in its decoration and in its colour palette.
