Jaroslav Hořánek (1925 - 1995) GIRL

Jaroslav Hořánek has been inclined towards expressive morphology and innovative colourism throughout his life. His work is multifaceted; in addition to abstractions and phantom motifs, he also illustrated and worked very intuitively. The recurring motif of circles and framing black contours can be seen behind the portrayed girl with hypnotic blue eyes. Hořánek disrupts the surfaces by layering traps and combining playfulness with humanity and existentiality.
