Václav Brožík (1851 - 1901) STUDY OF A HAND

Václav Brožík painted a number of likenesses and figures in historical costumes, which were in demand by art collectors at the time and also served Brožík as studies for large historical compositions. The Study of a Hand belongs to the same thematic level, with its position of the fingers reminiscent of the details of hands from the magnificent work The Election of George of Poděbrady as King of Bohemia, a study in the collections of the National Gallery.
