Vincenc Makovský (1900 - 1966) LYING WOMAN

The relief Reclining Woman by Vincenc Makovský is one of the masterpieces of Czech interwar sculpture. The artist used a Cubist analytical method, which fundamentally disrupted the traditional figural form. He divided the female nude into a series of separate, simplified fragments. This is one of the casts made by the artist's heirs.
