SOFA FROM THE HISTORICISM PERIOD

A representative sofa with both ends shaped into S-shaped volutes, richly inlaid with floral and geometric motifs. The lower plinth section is decorated with a rhythmic star pattern and a central inlaid cartouche. The legs are solidly and finely carved in the shape of lion paws. The furniture bears the characteristic features of historicism – an eclectic combination of classicizing shapes with rich decorative ornamentation. Intended for reupholstering.
