Otakar Hůrka (1889 - 1966) VILLAGE IN WINTER

Otakar Hůrka was a pupil of the prominent Czech landscape painter from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, Alois Kalvoda, and he remained faithful to this genre, the Czech landscape, all his life. In the years 1920–1923, Hůrka was on a study trip to France. After returning to his homeland, which he never left, he painted and exhibited his landscapes mainly from the Elbe region and especially from his beloved Posázaví.
