Jan Brychta became famous as an artist and illustrator in Czechoslovakia and also in England, where he moved with his family during the socialist era. Jan Brychta also worked as an animator on the children's series Jackanory for the BBC. His work is characterized by a certain degree of exaggeration and humor, which he sometimes used to comment on the events of his contemporaries.
