SAINT JOHN THE BAPTIST

A free-standing carved wooden sculpture of St. John the Baptist standing in contrapposto on a prismatic pedestal. The saint is dressed in a characteristic robe made of camel hair, draped over one shoulder; his right hand is placed on his chest, while his left hand originally held an attribute. The surface has preserved polychromy, worn in places, and shows visible signs of age.
