Rudolf Hlavica (1897 - 1971) FEMENIN ACT

Rudolf Hlavica's work is not as extensive as that of his brothers. His most remarkable pieces are his wooden sculptures, in which – as a trained woodcarver – he found his most authentic form of expression. In addition to these, he also devoted himself to small ceramics with themes from the life of rural people. His concept of white-glazed ceramic sculptures most closely resembled the work of his brother Emil. He is the author of the Štefánik monument in Záriečí, Slovakia, and the Liberation Monument in Vsetín. Marked PEXIDER LETOVICE.
