BOWL WITH A LID ON A HIGH PEDESTAL

A bowl with a lidcarried on a high pedestal by three sculpted cherubs standing around the base. The upper chalice is decorated with a relief band featuring dancing antique figures in a blue field; the lid is composed of fruit and leaves. The surface is polychromed with gilded accents, with patina and minor abrasions. The whole piece is stylistically based on classicist models and represents an impressive historicizing interior element from the 19th century.
