Jaroslav Háša was originally a house painter, but decided to study at the Academy of Fine Arts, where he was taught by Loukota, Nechleba, and Bukovac. He painted portraits of a number of prominent figures, including Mikoláš and Marie Alš, as well as Josef, Quido, and Amálie Mánes.
