CUP AND SAUCER BŘEZOVÁ

Berlin-type cup featuring a painted half-figure of the Virgin Mary in a pink robe holding the infant Jesus, set against a gray-beige background. Religious imagery of this kind catered to the interests of the Catholic Church as well as the devout public, while also serving as a pleasing decorative element. Both the cup and saucer bear modest gilded decoration. Manufactured by the Březová porcelain manufactory.
