CENTERPIECE MEISSEN

A generously conceived table centerpiece in the spirit of Rococo sculpture. Resting on a shaped, spreading base with bronze mounts and relief volute feet, the composition features a plastically modeled arrangement of eight small plates with rich floral decoration and shell-shaped rims, along with four seated putti allegorically representing the Four Seasons.

The central axis is formed by a stylized vegetal column adorned with pastel green leaves, ribbons, and sculpted flowers, supporting an openwork basket with a pierced base, decorated with floral motifs. The form, decoration, and painterly detail all reflect the high Rococo period in the Saxon porcelain style. Restored.

Damage: minor glaze abrasions in places.
