PAIR OF FIGURAL SCULPTURES BERLIN

Two porcelain sculptures depicting gallant scenes, executed in fine white porcelain. One figure group shows a young man kneeling and playing the flute before a girl with a basket of flowers. The other depicts a boy kneeling before a seated girl in a hat, engaged in an intimate conversation. The compositions convey an idyllic atmosphere, drawing on the Rococo tradition of romantic and pastoral scenes, here rendered in delicate unpainted porcelain. Produced by the Berlin porcelain manufactory.

Damage: tip of the flute slightly chipped.
