CUP AND SAUCER MEISSEN

Small chinoiserie cup without a handle, with a fully gilded interior. Richly painted in gold with stylized scenes from everyday Chinese life, complemented by a vegetal-geometric scrollwork motif. The saucer is decorated in the same style, featuring stylized depictions of daily life in China along with stylized flowers and trees. Attributed to the Meissen porcelain manufactory; Bettger porcelain.

Damage: abrasions to the gilding and minor chips on the saucer.
