Porcelain figural group in white glazed finish, depicting a scene from the commedia dell’arte. Columbina, seated in a richly draped Rococo gown with a necklace and earrings, leans slightly back and turns away from the pleading Pierrot, who kneels before her with arms outstretched in a gesture of longing and entreaty. Above them hovers a putto (Amor) holding an instrument in one hand and grasping Pierrot by the hair. The drapery of the costumes is richly modeled, the facial expressions finely rendered, and the overall composition conveys a dynamic, theatrical quality. Produced by the Nymphenburg porcelain manufactory. Restored.

Damage: occasional chips and minor missing parts.
