Richly decorated porcelain lidded jar, featuring three plastically modeled and gilded goat heads serving as handles. The body of the jar is oval and smooth, with a central motif of hand-painted floral decoration—blooming roses in shades of white, pink, and carmine with green leaves. Gold lines and ornamental borders accentuate the edges of the jar and its profiled foot. The jar rests on a triangular base with slightly flared legs, adorned with fine gilded vegetal decoration. The foot is connected to the jar by gilded hooves. The lid is decorated in the same style with blooming roses. Signed K. Mettner—presumably the decorator. Manufactured by Rosenthal.
