Porcelain plate with rich plastic decoration, produced at the Meissen porcelain manufactory. The plate features a pronounced, scalloped, almost star-shaped rim and is entirely decorated with a high-relief design of acanthus leaves and flowers in gold. The central composition consists of a symmetrical floral rosette from which gilded leaves radiate outward, extending to the edges. The porcelain surface is glossy white, smooth, and undecorated aside from the gilding. The lavish gilded ornamentation evokes the style of historicist Neo-Rococo or Neo-Baroque designs, typical of decorative objects from the late 19th century.

Defect: wear to gilding.
