Louisa Piepenhagen (1825 - 1893) HALF-TIMBERED HOUSE

The work of Louisa Piepenhagen, the younger daughter and pupil of August Friedrich Piepenhagen, is a variation on a similar theme that had already appeared on the market, with the differences mainly lying in the presence and absence of staffage, which is only hinted at here with a delicate pencil stroke. Louisa painted in her father's style and often used his templates to create similar scenes of forest and mountain landscapes at different times of the year and day, often enlivened by travelers.
