Although the author was known primarily as a comic actor, he was a very versatile personality and managed to combine both artistic activities in his life, acting and painting. His painting was influenced mainly by H. Rousseau, and he himself called his artistic expression "surneonaivism." This important Czech naive painter, actor, journalist, and illustrator works with humorous exaggeration in paintings with a characteristic naive charm. He builds the pictorial space on the basis of various perspective planes and intertwines characters from many stories with elements of absurdity. He draws the viewer into a complex fantasy world and forces them to focus and examine every detail more closely.
