Alexandr Vladimír Hrska (1890 - 1954) RAB PORT IN THE NIGHT

Alexandr Vladimír Hrska, Czech painter, graphic artist, and stage designer, was born on May 9, 1890, in Prague's Vinohrady district. He created remarkable and very fresh works, including landscapes, nudes, portraits, still lifes, and scenes from everyday life. He masterfully worked with composition and color, which oscillated between delicate pastel modeling and Fauvist swirls. The bright tones that strongly accentuate the night marina of the port of Rab belong to his best work.
