A series of twelve prints in folders, based on drawings by Toyen, published by František Borovský, 1946, Prague. Introductory poem by Jindřich Heisler, foreword by Karel Teige. Toyen spent the war years in Prague, creating art illegally, often drawings that she published after the war. The Shooting Range deals with folk pilgrimages, which it links to the agonizingly terrifying crimes of war. In the spirit of artificialism, it mixes memories and distinctive poetics with deep states of mind, unsettling us and forcing us to think about what will actually remain after the war.
