A lively study of a man by Max Švabinský, a consummate draughtsman and engraver of extraordinary technical skill with a keen eye for detail. A leading Czech painter and graphic artist, he studied under M. Pirner at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague, where he later worked as a professor and headed the graphic arts department.
