The exceptional Empire table clock is based on the mythological scene of Leda's embrace with the swan (Zeus reincarnated), which was a popular motif in ancient art and is known from many vase paintings and reliefs. The richly carved scene stands on a segmented plinth with foliate decoration and alabaster feet. The well-preserved enamel dial with an inset gilt bronze dial with Arabic numerals and date bears the signature Johann Kralik in Wien. The clock movement is quarter beaten. Restored, the clock movement is without running guarantee.
