The Reclining Nude, which Miroslav Vystrčil presented in May 1957 at the Young Art exhibition, was characterised by a harmony of rounded shapes that exhibit features of classical sculpture. However, the artist abandoned this form around 1959 and replaced modelling with metal, welding and stone work. Descriptive details were replaced by clean and simple lines. The offered sculpture "Reclining Torso" from 1966 is characterized by these features. It can also be seen in an old photograph of the garden of the artist's original studio in Kampa. The work comes from the artist's estate, where it was part of a Japanese garden cultivated by the artist with concrete elements of sculptural quality. Published by GAVU Cheb, Miroslav Vystrčil.
