Ota Janeček (1919 - 1996) A DEAD BIRD

Janeček's work was a thematically diverse whole, where natural motifs were intertwined with fantasy lyricism. As a printmaker, he excelled in drypoint, whose delicate nature allowed him to develop the subtlety of his subject matter to the maximum. He was able to combine the effect of colour with almost calligraphically precise lines, and compositionally one cannot help but draw comparisons to traditional Asian ink painting. Framed under anti-reflective glass with UV filter.
