Jan Kaláb is a Czech artist based on graffiti and street art. He is one of the first graffiti artists in the Czech Republic, with works in public spaces all over the world. Today the artist has had several exhibitions abroad (London, Paris, San Francisco, Miami). The artist's work is accompanied by a constant exploration of new techniques and structures. On the theme of permeating layers, he states: "There are parallel layers in the world of geometry. How do the layers permeate each other? Let’s say planes are defined by rectangles; if a point appears on the plane and starts to grow, it becomes a circular hole falling to a bottom layer, and from that layer, it multiplies itself to birth new ones, and so on. It is an infinity of regeneration in constant motion. Basic play between square and circle defining opposite elements – positive and negative space. My interpretation of pure geometry abstraction. This series can easily be applied to buildings and spaces, since its rectangular forms glide perfectly onto surfaces to give an interesting illusion." Certificate of authenticity is enclosed with the artwork.
