František Ketzek devoted himself to painting, drawing, graphics, illustration and taught in Prague. He spent his youth in Kladno, where in 1925 he graduated from the local high school. He attended lectures at the Faculty of Arts, Charles University in Prague and CTU. He studied in Italy, France, Germany and used to. Yugoslavia. Personal friendship with František Tichý influenced the work of both artists.
