The veduta depicting Parisian houses is a typical and artistically refined work by Josef Šíma. The simple, subtle lines are masterful, almost calligraphic, and sophisticated in their simplicity. At the age of thirty, Josef Šíma settled permanently in France, but maintained lively contacts with the Czech environment.
