A unique piece of oak wood approximately 6,500 years old. It is an unfossilized wood that has been hidden in moraine sediments in the North Moravian region for thousands of years. Subfossil oak is also referred to as black oak due to its colour change. The author is Jaroslav Prošek, who works in Česká Lípa in North Bohemia, the heart of the Czech glass industry. He specializes in designing and producing unique glass sculptures, but also works with other materials such as wood, stainless steel and marble. Prošek's works are part of the collection of the Mambo Bogotá Museum of Modern Art and the private art collection of the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed Salman. In addition to the acquisition of subfossil sculptures for the exhibitions of major museums in European capitals, their success at Expo 2020 Dubai and Expo 2025 Osaka can be highlighted.
