Tavík František Šimon (1877 - 1942) FROM LAPAD PENINSULA IN DALMATIA

František Tavík Šimon was a very talented painter and graphic artist who perfected many techniques and was also very fond of travelling. In his works he was able to capture many places in an authentic mood and was able to oscillate artistically between impression and almost documentary level of work. He also undertook a study trip around the world. The landscapes from the Dalmatia region come from his earlier work from his years of study with Maximilian Pirner.
