Karel Špillar (1871 - 1939) GIRL IN A MEADOW

Karel Špillar did not look at the figure in the same way as his teacher Ženíšek, the figure was rather part of the plot. He favoured lively and pastel tones, which he developed in an impressionistic spirit, and set the figures in different seasons, when the young girls in nature act as a metaphor for their awakening, burgeoning life or rest.
