Jiří Bradáček (1922 - 1984) GIRL WITH PLAIT

The exceptional stone sculpture "Girl with a Braid" presents the work of Jiří Bradáček from the 1960s, a time when the artist's relationship to stone sculpture was strengthened after his travels in Greece and Italy. The starting point of most of Bradáček's works was the female figure, even when it was at first sight an abstract sculpture. There is always a female form, or at least a detail of it, encrypted. In the case of the offered figurative sculpture, this indicative aspect of corporeality is the depicted face and the author's highlighted braid. Since the late 1950s, Jiří Bradáček's work has been observed by renowned critics, probably the most commented on by doc. PhDr. Jiří Šetlík.
