Zdeněk Lhotský is an famous personality of contemporary Czech glass art, known primarily as a pioneer of fused glass sculpture. A graduate of the Glass Studio under Stanislav Libensky at the Academy of Arts and Crafts in Prague, his work has long straddled the boundaries of free art, design and architecture. In 1994, he took over and revived the legendary glass centre in Pelechov near Železný Brod, which under his direction became an internationally recognised studio for the realisation of large-scale glass objects. Lhotsky's works are represented in the collections of prestigious institutions at home and abroad and have won numerous awards. Signed: P&L LHOTSKÝ'96 19/200.
