Before the battle with the pagan emperor Maxentius, Constantine led his army in prayer. After a while, he saw a sign in the sky that clearly indicated that he would be victorious. Constantine then triumphantly entered Rome, where he introduced religious tolerance and ended the persecution of Christians.
