BENIN BRONZE RELIEF

So-called Benin bronze, probably Nigeria, circa mid-20th century. A very successful cast in the style of ancient Benin bronzes depicts a king ("oba") surrounded by two guards and apparently a child of royal blood. The object, made using the lost wax method from a heavy dark alloy, is now attached to a wooden board.
