Pair of porcelain figurines, likely from the 18th or 19th century, inspired by Orientalist or exotic themes, possibly in the context of turquerie or the depiction of "Eastern" types popular during the Rococo and Biedermeier periods. The figures wear colourful costumes reminiscent of Balkan or Oriental dress, with floral-patterned skirts. One figure wears a conical cap with colourful stripes, stands in a relaxed, slightly tilted pose with the right hand on the hip, and exudes an elegant, slightly coquettish expression. The second figure, with a prominent moustache, is dressed in a yellow jacket and wears a purple-toned turban. Equipped with a sabre and axe at the belt, this character likely represents a Janissary, with a proud and authoritative facial expression and posture. Marked with a cross on the back. Restored.
